T's Tantan - Ecute Ueno

A fully vegan ramen shop on the third floor of Ecute inside JR Ueno Station. Everything is free of meat, fish, eggs, and dairy, with no MSG. Non vegans eat here and leave impressed. The menu goes beyond ramen too, covering keema curry, ginger fried soy pork, veggie katsu sandwiches, and seasonal specials that rotate regularly.
Good to Know:
- The Golden Sesame Tantanmen is the move. There's also a nuttier black sesame version and a bright yuzu ramen that works well with the optional konjac noodle swap.
- The pan fried gyoza on the side is a favorite.
- Most bowls land around ¥1,000 to ¥1,500.
- The restaurant is inside the ticket gates, so it's convenient if you're already on the Yamanote Line or catching a shinkansen. Coming from outside the station means tapping in with an IC card or grabbing a platform ticket for about ¥150.
- Small space, fast service, English speaking staff.
- Sister brand of T's Restaurant in Jiyugaoka, with other locations at Tokyo Station and Narita Airport.
