Ming Teng HAO HAO
Vegan
Ming-Teng HAOHAO is a fully vegan cafe in Shimokitazawa specializing in Taiwanese and Hong Kong inspired cuisine. The kitchen is supervised by chef Toshiro Minami, who also runs Mimosa, a Michelin recognized Shanghai restaurant in Minami Aoyama. The signature item is douhua, a silky soy pudding served with toppings like azuki bean, pu-er tea syrup, tapioca, and seasonal fruit. Savory options include a plant based luorou fan, soy meat dumplings, and mapo tofu rice. The interior references 1980s West Coast Chinatown aesthetics: peach paint, retro decor, and pictures of food on the walls. The restaurant relocated from Nakameguro to the Reload complex in Shimokitazawa in late 2021.
