Falafel Brothers is a fully vegan falafel restaurant that started as a tiny shop near Roppongi Crossing in 2017, founded by Amnon and Daisuke. It has since grown to four Tokyo locations: Roppongi, Shibuya Parco, Otemachi, and Tokyu Plaza Harajuku (Harakado). The menu is built around freshly made chickpea falafel served in customizable pita sandwiches, salad bowls, and rice plates, with all sauces, toppings, and sides fully plant based. The Roppongi original is the smallest and most casual, with just a few counter seats and a bench outside, leaning more toward a street food stand than a sit down restaurant. The brand has been featured in Lonely Planet and various Japanese media and draws a mix of international residents, tourists, and local office workers.

Good to Know:

  • The falafel pita sandwich is the core order. Half size starts around ¥550, full size around ¥1,000. You choose a base (lettuce, kale, or spinach), additional salads from a changing selection, and sauces including multiple tahini options. Everything behind the counter is vegan so no need to check individual items.
  • Salad bowls (minus the pita) run around ¥1,100. Rice plates are around ¥1,000. Fala burgers, hummus sandwiches, and fala hotdogs are also on the menu.
  • Lotus root fries are a popular side.
  • Raw vegan cakes and gluten free desserts are available, including a turmeric chocolate cake.
  • Drinks include organic coffee, Israeli beer, and other alcoholic and non alcoholic options.
  • The Roppongi shop is very small. Seating is limited to a few counter spots and an outdoor bench. Takeout is the more practical option when it's busy. UberEats delivery is available in parts of Tokyo.
  • Each branch has a slightly different menu and concept. Harajuku (Harakado) stays open until 23:00. Otemachi is closed Sundays.
  • The Roppongi branch opens early (8:30 weekdays, 9:30 Sundays), making it useful for breakfast, which is rare for vegan spots in the area.
  • Three minute walk from Roppongi Station (Hibiya and Oedo lines), about 100 meters from Roppongi Crossing.
  • Cash and card accepted. Catering available for events.
