Vegan

Ain Soph. Ginza is the flagship of a small vegan restaurant group that has been running in Tokyo since 2009. The ground floor is a patisserie selling vegan tiramisu, pudding, and baked goods. The upper floors are a proper restaurant spanning multiple levels, with concrete walls, warm wood, and a calm atmosphere that feels more like a date spot than a health food cafe. The menu is 100% plant based, with gluten free and oriental vegan (no alliums) options available. Lunch centers on bento boxes and the signature pancakes; dinner shifts to multi course set menus.

Good to Know:

  • The Fukurokuju Bento is the signature lunch item, a compartmentalized spread that changes daily and runs around ¥3,150 on weekdays, slightly more on weekends. It's only available at the Ginza location.
  • The "Heavenly Vegan Pancakes" are what most people end up talking about. Fluffy, gluten free, served with homemade ice cream.
  • Dinner is course menu only, ranging from about ¥4,400 to ¥9,900 depending on the tier. Reservations are strongly recommended, especially for dinner or the fourth floor private tatami room.
  • Five minute walk from Ginza Station (Exit A7), or about one minute from Higashi Ginza Station (Exit 3). Right next to the Kabukiza Theatre.
  • Part of the Ain Soph. group, which also has locations in Shinjuku (Journey), Ikebukuro (Soar), and Kyoto. Each location has a different menu and theme.
  • Tea time (between lunch and dinner service) is desserts and drinks only.
